About PYO Music Institute: Based in Center City, Philadelphia, the PYO Music Institute (PYOMI) is the tri-state region’s premier youth orchestra organization for talented, young, classical, and jazz musicians. Through ten program divisions—including classical, jazz, and symphonic band ensembles—as well as Tune Up Philly, a free, community-based music education program, PYOMI inspires a diverse spectrum of 1,000+ students with character, discipline, commitment, and community through music.
Job Summary: The Director of Marketing & Communications (“Director”) will develop strategies and content to support increased engagement with the PYO Music Institute among all audiences. The Director will be responsible for various tasks across departments, including audience development, recruitment, communications, maintaining relationships with press/media outlets on behalf of the organization, community outreach, content curation, storytelling, and other institutional initiatives. The Director will increase the institution’s visibility among students, parents, audiences, and donors by analyzing industry trends and implementing effective and current strategies.
