Description
OverviewFall City, WA | It started as a dream between two brothers who loved golf.
The Rutledge Family and their heritage are at the heart and soul behind the vision, birth and lifeblood of the Twin Rivers Golf Course in Fall City, WA. Their story is one of perseverance, family, and a dream that refused to die.
Richard Rutledge first imagined building his own golf course as a high schooler, sketching out his dream course during study hall. Life took him in other directions-marriage, kids, and a career-but he never let go of that vision. Ironically, Richard didn't even like golf at first! But after losing badly to friends, his competitive spirit kicked in, and he soon became a champion golfer, falling in love with the game.
Decades later, with encouragement from friends and family, Richard and Pat decided to risk it all-selling everything to pursue the dream. With Tom and Eleanor's support, they found land and began the long, grueling process of getting permits. What they thought would take a year stretched into nearly four, draining their finances and testing their resolve. There were moments of doubt and despair, but Pat's optimism and the family's determination kept them going.
Finally, after Richard made a heartfelt plea to county officials, the permits came through. The Rutledges poured their hearts into building every inch of the course themselves. In 1994, Twin Rivers Golf Course opened, and a rainbow on opening day seemed to signal that this dream was truly meant to be.
Today, Twin Rivers stands as a testament to the power of persistence and passion. Twin Rivers' new ownership has a different name and a vision to build the legacy of what made TRGC possible.
