- Simulation Technology Specialist
Description
Under the direction of the CHHS Director of Simulation and Digital Health, the Simulation Technology Specialist provides technical and operational support for all CHHS laboratories and simulation activities. This position ensures that specialized simulation equipment, high-fidelity manikins, software platforms, and audiovisual systems function reliably to support high-quality teaching, learning, and training experiences across academic programs.
Duties/Responsibilities
Simulation Technology Operations and Support (45%)
Provide day-to-day technical and operational support for CHHS simulation labs and instructional laboratories.
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot high-fidelity manikins, task trainers, simulation software, and related clinical equipment.
Ensure simulation environments are fully prepared and operational for scheduled classes, trainings, and special events.
Provide real-time technical support during simulation activities to ensure smooth operation and timely issue resolution.
Audiovisual and Digital Systems Support (25%)
Support audiovisual, recording, and playback systems used for simulation, observation, and debriefing.
Test, monitor, and troubleshoot AV and digital systems to ensure reliable performance.
Assist with basic configuration and user support for simulation and instructional software platforms.
Coordinate with IT and facilities partners, as needed, to resolve technical issues beyond routine support.
Equipment Maintenance, Inventory, and Safety (20%)
Perform routine testing, basic maintenance, and quality checks of simulation equipment to ensure readiness and longevity.
Assist with inventory tracking, equipment organization, and supply management.
Follow and support safety and equipment handling protocols.
Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, and replacement recommendations.
Training, Documentation, and Continuous Improvement (10%)
Assist with onboarding and training of faculty, staff, and student workers on simulation technologies and lab procedures.
Maintain basic documentation related to equipment use, setup procedures, and technical workflows.
Contribute to continuous improvement of simulation operations and technical processes.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Experience in healthcare simulation, clinical education, or academic laboratory settings.
Familiarity with high-fidelity manikins, simulation software platforms, and AV recording systems.
