OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST * *Facility/Location: BSW The Heart Hospital, Plano, Texas - **1100 Allied Dr, Plano, 75093* * *Schedule: Shift: PRN Day Shift (includes weekends)* * *Department/Specialty: Inpatient Acute Care* We are seeking a highly motivated *PRN* *Occupational Therapist* to join our team at The Heart Hospital in Plano, TX. In this position you will evaluate and treat patients recovering from *cardiac surgery, heart failure, and other complex cardiovascular conditions**,* with a focus on improving functional independence and quality of life. Job Summary The Occupational Therapist PRN plans, organizes, and provides professional services in therapeutic programs. Clinical practice includes evaluation and therapy planning to help rehabilitate disabled individuals. Works closely with patients and family to meet treatment goals. Essential Functions of the Role * Evaluates, treats and monitors patient. Modifies therapy program and goals. * Performs thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner. Enters charges accurately. * Communicates effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and the medical care team. Provides education to patients, family, and staff. * Supervises ancillary staff, students and volunteers. * Advances clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review and implementation of evidence-based practice. * Imparts knowledge to develop the clinical skills of colleagues. Adheres to organizational, national, and state regulatory guidelines. * Maintains awareness of system goals. Aligns personal goals and work activities to uphold or impact the system goals. Key Success Factors * Must possess excellent social relation skills to include excellent oral and written communication skills. * Must demonstrate aptitude in assigned areas as specified for each clinician. * Exhibits proven synergy and leadership skills with all levels of the healthcare team. Assures excellent customer service to patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers. * Possesses proficient computer knowledge; operates multiple computer systems and standard Rehabilitation equipment. * High attention to detail in fast paced and dynamic environment. * Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a high level of productivity. Belonging Statement We believe that all people should feel welcomed, valued and supported. *QUALIFICATIONS* * EDUCATION - Masters' or Bachelors plus 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification * EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience * CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Occupational Therapist (OT) Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
