The Senior Consultant, Technology Consulting is a leader within the Optum Advisory Service.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as a software engineer contributing to delivery of software products in an agile environment
Participate in sprint planning sessions, user story grooming and feature development
Design and develop integrations between enrollment, front end sales systems and rest of the customers technology ecosystem
Proven track record of hands on engineering working in a .Net and Azure cloud environment
Work with client requirements, technical architects, scrum master and product owner to scope, plan, design and build integrations
Build and maintain solid client relationships
Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high quality services
Determine process improvements and adopt engineering best practices
Experience in working with AI tools such as Codex, Claude, Copilot etc.
Proven ability to take initiative and work independently in a fast-paced environment

Required Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in hands on software engineering
10+ years of experience in software delivery using Agile models and sprint teams
5+ years of experience in .Net and Azure cloud implementation
5+ years of experience leading integration efforts for large scale system implementations
5+ years of Full Stack development
2+ years of experience in event driven microservices architecture
2+ years of experience working with Health Insurance processes and systems focused on front end policy sales systems and enrollment
1+ years of AI- Augmented SDLC (ChatGPT, Codex, Claude, Copilot)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in AI/ML delivery projects
Experience with any / all of the following applications: MS Project, Smartsheet, Service Now, Jira, Rally
Experience working with payer systems and / or applications in a cloud environment
Experience working in and successfully navigating a matrixed environment
Proven to possess analytical reasoning and solution-focus problem solving
Proven ability to participate in cross-functional teams
Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
