Description
OverviewAssists the First Assistant Senior Golf Professional and the Directors of Golf Operations in developing, instituting, and managing member oriented programs and services. These include but are not limited to: golf tournaments, leagues, services and a professional and elegant looking pro shop. Assists members in the shop with any questions they may have.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year certificate from college or technical school or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, RegiPGM Program with the PGA of America is preferred.
Essential Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following;
- Provides assistance for members and guests in the Pro Shop.
- Acts as the shop Supervisor in the absence of the Senior Golf Professional.
- Participates as a team member to accomplish all tasks, goals and preparations for all golf activities, training new employees and customer service.
- Organizes and coordinates golf leagues, outings, tournaments, special events and conducts orientations and marketing tours as requested.
- Assists tee-time coordination, lesson book, handicapping, GREIC and demo days.
- Assists with on course issues such as pace of play, marking and defining.
- Assists in the maintenance of an accurate inventory.
- Assists in teaching clinics, golf schools, jr. camps, private/group lessons, club fittings, TPI and all instructional programs.
- Produces educational films, photography, media, collateral content via current technology.
- Performs club repair which includes grips, cut downs and epoxies.
- Communicates with members, co-workers, management and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.
- Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
- Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image of The Polo Club.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the First Assistant Senior Golf Professional.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have good customer service skills.
- Knowledge of golf merchandise is helpful.
- Requires responsibility and accountability.
- Requires good time/task management, and a positive and upbeat attitude.
- Requires proficiency with club repair tools such as a vice, grip knife and shaft cutter.
- Ability to verbally communicate well in English and in writing.
- Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
- Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers and members.
- Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job occasionally requires supervisory responsibilities.

Language Skills:
Ability to communicate well in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of members or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software, PowerPoint software and Internet software..

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision and ability to adjust focus. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include wearing a surveillance earpiece head set connected to radio. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
