- Assistant Coach
Description
We are seeking an experienced, motivated swim coach to lead and develop a group of high school-aged competitive swimmers. This is a great opportunity for a coach who enjoys working directly with athletes, building a positive team culture, and helping swimmers reach their individual and competitive goals.
The coach will be responsible for planning and leading practices, providing technical instruction and feedback, and creating a challenging, supportive environment where athletes can grow both in and out of the pool.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has significant competitive swimming and/or coaching experience
- Enjoys working with high school-aged athletes
- Has a strong understanding of swim technique, training, and race strategy
- Can create purposeful and well-structured practices
- Is enthusiastic, dependable, and able to motivate athletes
- Communicates well with swimmers, families, and team leadership
- Is committed to developing athletes while maintaining a positive team culture

This position is designed for a coach who wants to focus on coaching rather than administration. With a consistent evening and Saturday schedule and only about one meet per month, the role offers a manageable commitment while providing the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a group of competitive high school swimmers.

Requirements
- Plan and lead engaging, ability-appropriate swim practices
- Develop athletes' technical skills, conditioning, race strategy, and overall performance
- Provide individualized feedback and coaching to help swimmers reach their potential
- Foster a positive, team-oriented environment
- Communicate effectively with athletes and families regarding training and competition
- Prepare athletes for UIL and USA competition
- Attend scheduled practices and swim meets
- Maintain a safe, professional, and encouraging team environment
- Coach will be need to have and maintain all USA Swimming credentials
