OverviewLomas Santa Fe Country Club is seeking a motivated, service-oriented golf professional to join our team as an Assistant Golf Professional.
This position is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to grow their career in the golf industry while gaining hands-on experience in all areas of a successful private club golf operation. The Assistant Golf Professional will work closely with the Director of Golf Operations, Head Golf Professional, and the entire golf operations team to provide an exceptional experience for our members and guests.
The ideal candidate is passionate about the golf industry, enjoys building relationships with members, takes pride in providing outstanding service, and is eager to learn and develop professionally. We are looking for someone who wants to be part of a team, contribute ideas, take on responsibility, and continue progressing toward a leadership position within the golf industry.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Lomas Santa Fe Country Club is committed to developing golf professionals who want to advance their careers.
The Assistant Golf Professional will have opportunities to gain experience in tournament administration, merchandising, golf instruction, club fitting, budgeting, tee sheet management, staff leadership, member communications, event planning, and overall golf department management.
For PGA Associates, club leadership will encourage continued progress through the PGA Professional Golf Management Program and provide opportunities to develop the skills necessary for future advancement within the golf industry.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires a combination of indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Candidates should be comfortable spending extended periods standing and walking and must be able to perform the physical responsibilities associated with golf shop, tournament, and golf operations duties.
The position requires a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Experience Required
- Previous experience in golf operations, preferably at a private club, resort, or high-end daily-fee facility.
- PGA Membership or enrollment in the PGA Professional Golf Management Program is preferred. Candidates interested in beginning the PGA program are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge of the game of golf, golf etiquette, tournament operations, and the Rules of Golf.
- Experience with golf tournament software, tee sheet systems, point-of-sale systems, and Microsoft Office is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and varying schedules based on club activities and tournament calendars.
- Commitment to providing exceptional member and guest service.
Essential Responsibilities
The Assistant Golf Professional will assist with the day-to-day operation of the golf department, including:
- Providing exceptional and personalized service to members and guests.
- Assisting with daily golf shop operations, including opening and closing procedures, point-of-sale transactions, tee time management, member requests, and answering phones.
- Developing strong relationships with members and becoming a visible and engaged member of the golf operations team.
- Assisting with the planning, preparation, administration, and execution of member tournaments, championships, outside events, and club programming.
- Preparing tournament materials, pairings, scorecards, cart signs, scoreboards, results, and other event-related communications.
- Assisting with tee sheet management and monitoring daily play.
- Supporting pace-of-play initiatives and communicating professionally with members and guests regarding club policies and expectations.
- Assisting with golf shop merchandising, receiving, inventory control, special orders, displays, pricing, and overall presentation.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, professional, and welcoming golf shop environment.
- Assisting with golf instruction, clinics, junior golf programs, and player-development initiatives based on experience and qualifications.
- Supporting outside service, starter, and player assistant operations as needed to ensure a seamless member experience.
- Communicating course conditions, operational changes, and important information to members, guests, and fellow team members.
- Assisting with club fittings, demo days, vendor relationships, and special golf shop events.
- Participating in golf staff meetings and contributing ideas for improving the member experience and golf operation.
- Serving as a professional representative of Lomas Santa Fe Country Club both on and off property.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the Director of Golf Operations and Head Golf Professional.
