Audit Manager – Audit & Assurance

Position Details:
Location: Alexandria, VA
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: 85,000 – 130,000, DOE
Work Schedule: Hybrid work schedule after introductory period Minimum three days per week in the Alexandria office

Thompson, Hughes & Trollinger, PLLC is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead Audit & Assurance engagements while working directly with firm leadership in a collaborative CPA firm.

We're looking for an experienced CPA who enjoys leading audit engagements, mentoring professionals, and building lasting client relationships. This dedicated Audit & Assurance role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working closely with businesses and nonprofit organizations throughout the DC Metro Area, with a potential path to firm partnership for the right candidate.

What We're Looking For

•         Active CPA license
•         Eight or more years of public accounting experience with significant audit experience
•         Proven experience leading audit engagement teams
•         Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and audit methodology
•         Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
•         Strong organizational and project management abilities
•         Commitment to exceptional client service and continuous improvement

What You'll Do

•         Lead audit, review, and agreed-upon procedures engagements from planning through completion
•         Manage engagement budgets, schedules, staffing, and client expectations
•         Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout engagements
•         Review workpapers and financial statements for quality and compliance
•         Mentor, coach, and develop staff accountants and senior accountants
•         Research accounting and auditing issues while providing technical guidance
•         Partner with firm leadership to strengthen client relationships and service
