As a Speech Language Pathologist in the bustling heart of New York, your role transcends mere assessment and treatment. You'll be at the forefront of unlocking possibilities, restoring self-assurance, and fostering connections that span generations. From the giggles of children mastering their first phrases to the reclaiming of independence by older adults, your expertise will shape narratives and create meaningful interactions. This position epitomizes opportunity, allowing you to engage with a diverse clientele throughout their lifespan, all while navigating both outpatient and occasional inpatient settings. Whether your passion lies with the blossoming speech of toddlers, the complexities of adult neurogenic disorders, or assisting seniors with cognitive-linguistic challenges, this environment will ignite your enthusiasm and offer the flexibility you crave. Conduct thorough evaluations across all age groups, employing both standardized assessments and observational strategies. Craft individualized treatment plans that pinpoint short- and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives. Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy addressing areas such as language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing abilities. Engage collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and family members to develop integrated care approaches. Provide education to patients and families, ensuring strides made in therapy extend beyond the therapy room. Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions to promote holistic patient care throughout their rehabilitation journey. Maintain up-to-date and precise documentation that adheres to all state, federal, and organizational regulations. Engage in ongoing professional development through education and collaborative efforts with peers. Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. A completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is still pending. Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 30 days of employment. Established proficiency in evidence-based therapy methods across all age demographics, coupled with a keen understanding of both developmental and acquired communication and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Flexibility in adapting therapeutic methods to meet the varied cultural and linguistic needs of clients. Strong clinical evaluation and critical thinking skills to make sound judgments. Familiarity with electronic health record systems and documentation protocols. Attractive salary aligned with your experience level. Flexible work hours enabling a harmonious work-life integration and diverse caseloads. Career growth potential in specialized fields such as pediatrics, neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics. Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay. Health benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Support for continuing education and professional growth initiatives. A team-oriented atmosphere promoting quality patient care and lifelong learning. In this dynamic role, you'll not only provide speech therapy; you'll be part of a mission that champions the restoration of voices, the strengthening of connections, and the creation of joyful moments through the fundamental human act of communication.
