Job Summary
SMSI is seeking a Senior-Level Cost Estimator with Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) experience to support one of our clients in Oak Ridge, TN. This position will be based at the client's Oak Ridge office and will provide cost-estimating expertise in support of their project needs.

SMSI is seeking a Senior-Level Cost Estimator with Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) experience to support one of our clients in Oak Ridge, TN. This position will be based at the client's Oak Ridge office and will provide cost-estimating expertise in support of their project needs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates in accordance with client procedures, standards, and requirements.
- Integrate cost estimates with project schedules and supporting cost narratives.
- Develop accurate, reasonable, and realistic estimates supported by thorough basis-of-estimate documentation.
- Utilize project schedules, the Basis of Estimate (BOE), and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) data dictionaries to develop and maintain estimates.
- Collaborate with engineers to develop estimates that align with the proposed technical approach and P6 activities.
- Identify required resources and coordinate with Supply Chain to obtain current, accurate pricing and resource information.
- Partner with Schedulers to ensure estimated resources are properly loaded onto the appropriate project activities.
- Participate in estimate reviews and incorporate feedback, comments, and revisions as required.
Required Skills/ Abilities
- Minimum ten years of experience developing estimates for engineering, construction, or performance management baselines.
- Specific expertise and experience developing estimates in a relevant area of the scope of work (e.g., electrical).
- Reviews work for completeness as required by project specifications and scope definitions.
- Candidate must have strong problem solving, analysis and interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
- U.S. Citizenship
Education
- A four-year degree is preferred. Candidates who do not meet the formal education requirements may be considered based on additional years of relevant experience.
