Description
OverviewPromotes the golf club through instructional programs, clinics, and schools, and educates students in the proper fundamentals of all aspects of the game.
Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Class A member of PGA/LPGA.
- Ability to read and speak English.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with computerized POS and tee time system.
- Ability to regularly stand, walk, and sit; occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, or crouch; frequently use hands and arms; and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Essential Responsibilities
- Teach the fundamentals of the golf swing as established by the Director of Instruction.
- Design and implement marketing ideas to promote golf instruction and generate additional revenue.
- Oversee range set-up and equipment and help maintain the driving range, lesson tee, and storage shed.
- Promote all club golf activities including junior golf clinics.
- Instruct and assist in the development of qualified and certified assistants, including monthly clinics and roundtable sessions.
- Coordinate and teach weekly clinics.
- Act as a liaison between Golf Digest and the club regarding golf school schedules, needs, and equipment.
- Maintain inventory of all teaching aids on property, including video equipment.
- Assist the Director of Instruction with Golf Digest Schools and Troon Golf Institute.
- Assist in the creation of lesson plans.
- Interview, hire, train, assign, direct work, evaluate performance, reward, discipline associates, and resolve complaints and problems.
- Manage department members including Assistant and Associate Golf Professionals and Guest Services Attendants.
- Provide orientation and ongoing training for new associates.
- Monitor business volume forecasts and plan manpower, productivity, costs, and other expenses accordingly.
- Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
