Description
OverviewOversees and maintains all facets of the golf operation. Provides professional support, direction, management, training and leadership to golf staff associates. Promotes and nurtures customer relations and enhance the quality of the golf experience. Responsible for the day-to-day golf operations.
Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Class A member of PGA/LPGA.
- Ability to read and speak English is required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with computerized POS and tee time system.
- Regularly stands, walks and sits; occasionally climbs or balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches; frequently uses hands and arms; frequently talks or hears; occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Essential Responsibilities
- Oversee golf operations including tournaments, rules, tee sheet activity, merchandise inventory, range operations, player service operations, cart fleet, and may assist with supervising Food and Beverage operations.
- Assist in the development and day-to-day tracking of the budget and business plan and help control expenses in relation to revenues.
- Create a customer service-oriented atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and meets the needs of members.
- Work closely with the Superintendent and Food and Beverage Manager to ensure timely communication and a strong working relationship.
- Prepare work schedules and assign associates areas of responsibility.
- Perform payroll tasks and monitor hours to maximize productivity and minimize overtime.
- Provide leadership and vision to golf staff and prepare them for career advancement.
- Provide golf instruction through lessons and clinics to members and guests.
- Interview, hire, train, plan, assign, direct work, evaluate performance, reward and discipline associates; address complaints and resolve problems.
- Manage department members including Assistant and Associate Golf Professionals, Teaching Professionals, Tournament Coordinator, and Guest Services Attendants.
- Ensure effective orientation and training for each new associate and develop ongoing training programs.
- Monitor business volume forecast and plan accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
- Implement and maintain excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
- Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as required.
