OverviewGrand Harbor Golf & Beach Club, a prestigious 36-hole private club in Vero Beach, Florida, and a proud Distinguished Club of America, is seeking an accomplished PGA of America Professional in good standing to serve as our next Head Golf Professional.
This is an exceptional leadership opportunity for a highly motivated golf professional with a minimum of six (6) years of private club experience, an extensive background in tournament administration, and recognized expertise in Golf Genius. The successful candidate will possess an unwavering commitment to excellence, a passion for delivering extraordinary member experiences, and the leadership ability to continually elevate one of Florida's premier private club golf operations.
The Head Golf Professional will serve as a key member of the golf leadership team and work closely with the Director of Golf to execute a best-in-class golf program. This individual will oversee an extensive calendar of member tournaments and events, manage tournament financials and budgets, champion innovation in golf technology and communications, and help ensure every interaction reflects the exceptional standards for which Grand Harbor is known.
Experience Required
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- PGA of America Professional in good standing.
- Minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience as a Golf Professional, preferably within a private club environment.
- Extensive experience administering tournaments through Golf Genius, including tournament setup, online registration, pairings, scoring, live scoring, communications, reporting, and event management.
- Demonstrated success planning and executing member tournaments, leagues, golf associations, and special events.
- Proficiency with Jonas Club Management Software, Canva, Microsoft Publisher, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience managing club websites, mobile applications, and digital member communications.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and member service skills.
Essential Responsibilities
Tournament & Event Administration
- Serve as the primary administrator for all golf tournaments and member events.
- Manage all Golf Genius programming, registration, pairings, scoring, live leaderboards, communications, and reporting.
- Coordinate and execute an extensive annual calendar of golf events and association play.
- Prepare tournament budgets and oversee all tournament financials.
- Administer prize funds, member credit book payouts, trophies, awards, and post-event reconciliation.
- Coordinate tournament logistics with all appropriate club departments to ensure flawless event execution.
- Assist the Director of Golf in overseeing the daily golf operation.
- Assist with merchandising, inventory management, and retail presentation.
- Oversee golf cart fleet management and equipment coordination.
- Administer the Club's handicap program in accordance with USGA Rules of Handicapping.
- Assist with new member orientations, renter orientations, and other member welcome programs.
- Attend and facilitate golf association meetings as assigned.
The successful candidate must demonstrate advanced proficiency with:
- Golf Genius Tournament Management
- Jonas Club Management Software
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Microsoft Publisher
- Canva
- Club websites
- Club mobile applications
- Digital tournament communications and member engagement platforms
- Provide individual and group golf instruction as requested.
- Teaching responsibilities are expected to represent less than 20% of the overall position.
