Essential Responsibilities
Head Golf Professional
Job Description
The Club at New Seabury is seeking an experienced, motivated, and service-oriented Head Golf Professional to lead the day-to-day golf operation and provide an exceptional experience for members and guests.
The Head Golf Professional will oversee all aspects of golf operations, including member and guest services, tournaments, golf programming, merchandising, staff leadership, and coordination with other club departments. This highly visible leadership role requires professionalism, strong communication, attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional service.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
- Oversee daily golf operations and maintain a consistently high level of member and guest service.
- Manage tee sheet operations, starting procedures, pace of play, and overall flow of play.
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the golf operation and engage with members and guests.
- Develop and implement golf policies, procedures, and operating standards.
- Coordinate golf operations with course maintenance, food & beverage, membership, and other departments.
- Ensure golf facilities, staging areas, practice facilities, and operational areas meet club standards.
TOURNAMENTS & GOLF PROGRAMMING
- Plan and execute member tournaments, club championships, leagues, outings, and special events.
- Collaborate with committees and club leadership on golf programming and initiatives.
- Support junior, women's, men's, clinic, and other player-development programs.
MEMBER & GUEST EXPERIENCE
- Build strong relationships with members and understand their preferences and expectations.
- Create a welcoming, professional, and service-focused environment.
- Respond to member questions, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- Serve as an ambassador for the club and its culture.
STAFF LEADERSHIP
- Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and develop golf operations staff.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management.
- Foster a positive, professional, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
GOLF SHOP & ADMINISTRATION
- Oversee golf shop merchandising, including purchasing, receiving, inventory, displays, and sales.
- Maintain an attractive and organized retail environment.
- Monitor departmental expenses, payroll, merchandise performance, and key financial metrics.
- Maintain accurate operational records and reports.
- Effectively utilize club management, tee time, tournament, point-of-sale, and communication systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- PGA of America Class A Membership required
Previous experience as a Head Golf Professional, First Assistant Golf Professional, or similar leadership role at a private club, resort, or high-quality golf facility. - Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate a team.
- Strong knowledge of golf operations, tournament administration, merchandising, and member service.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of the Rules of Golf and tournament procedures.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Commitment to the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and service.

The successful candidate will be proactive, organized, approachable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on attention to detail, consistent execution, communication, and exceeding member expectations.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Compensation Range: $90,000-$105,000
Competitive compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications, including potential opportunities for:
