About this opportunity...
This role will lead project planning and execution, facilitate Agile activities, and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery across multiple data teams. This role blends stakeholder management, delivery excellence, and Agile coaching-ideal for someone who can translate business goals into actionable backlogs while guiding teams to provide predictable, value-driven outcomes.
BI Delivery:
This role will develop and maintain project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. They will partner with Development Leads and Data Engineering to ensure projects complete the full BI development lifecycle (SDLC) and designs follow modern BI architecture, including data quality and lineage/metadata capture. This role will proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies while ensuring projects remain within scope and budget.
Stakeholder Mgt:
This role will be the primary point of contact for project sponsors; run steering updates and keep stakeholders informed with transparent status reporting. Manage demand intake and prioritization using clear value frameworks. The role will mediate between the business, product owner and technical team, to resolve conflicts and influence decisions during the solution cycle. This role will also be responsible for overseeing the change management and adoption milestones within the overall project plan.
Agile Coach:
This role will serve as Scrum Master, facilitating sprint planning, daily scrum, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives. They will partner with Product Owners to create a value-focused backlog, define MVP/MMP, and ensure clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria. They will remove impediments, optimize productivity flow (throughput), and cultivate continuous improvement via metrics (velocity, lead time, defects).
The base salary range for this role is $99,900 - $130,000. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
What you will do and what you will learn...
- Own end-to-end delivery of BI initiatives-scoping, planning, estimation, resourcing, RAID (Risks/Assumptions/Issues/Dependencies) management, and release planning.
- Develop and maintain project charters, delivery roadmaps, and communication plans aligned to business objectives.
- Define and manage scope, timeline, and budget; establish baselines, control changes, and mitigate risks through lightweight governance.
- Coordinate cross-functional work across product owners, data engineering, BI developers, data governance, QA, support teams and business stakeholders.
- Drive requirements (KPIs, metrics definitions, acceptance criteria) and solution oversight to ensure alignment with data governance and master data standards.
- Orchestrate UAT and go-live readiness (cutover plan, rollback plan, release notes, training & enablement).
- Drive the execution of the release, deployment, and support transition plans with stakeholders.
- Ensure existing toolsets and best industry practices are implemented, promote Agile and DevOps best practices across the organization.
- Ensure solutions follow quality standards (data accuracy, performance SLAs, accessibility, consistency with guidelines) and champion trusted metrics and single source of truth with data governance and domain owners.
- Contribute to financial planning, capability roadmaps, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Business Information department.
What you need to be successful...
- Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Business, Economics or Computer Science, or an equivalent diploma
- 5-8+ years of experience in Project/Program management delivery of analytics/BI/data products in a medium to large company
- 3+ years as a Scrum Master or Agile delivery lead supporting multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results and coordinating activities
- Excellent communication skills to all levels of the organization; effective listener and can negotiate to obtain consensus between two more groups. Presentation and training skills
- Ability to network, develop relationships, and collaborate with key contacts outside of own area of expertise
- Proven organization skills: ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands
- Strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness, identifying creative ways to accomplish work when resources are limited, or hurdles are high
- Advanced application of productivity suite software (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite)
- Working knowledge and hand-on experience with BI tools such as (MicroStrategy, PowerBI, Tableau) and PMO tools such as (MS Project, One Plan, Primavera, Jira, Kanban)
- Working experience in the retail industry or similar fast-paced environment preferred
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM), Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent is a plus
