Role Description The Lead Telecom Technician is a full-time, on-site role with sites all over the world. This role oversees the installation, termination, testing of telecommunications cabling and equipment, including voice and data systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include reading and interpreting shop drawings, coordinating job tasks, guiding and mentoring technicians, and ensuring that all work meets company standards and industry codes. The Lead Telecom Technician will diagnose and resolve system issues, interface with project managers and clients, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure safe work practices. The role requires consistent travel to work locations all around the world, and the ability to work in varied environments (e.g., ceilings, ladders, raised floors, and construction areas). This position will be 100% travel. It will involve installing telecom infrastructure in new US embassies and consulates all around the world. All flights and lodging will be paid for by us and you will also be paid per diem for everyday worked overseas which is tax free.
Requirements
Qualifications
Strong ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues in telecom and cabling environments, using appropriate tools and test equipment.
Hands-on experience with telecommunications systems and telecommunications infrastructure, including voice and data networks.
Knowledge of telephony systems, including PBX, VoIP, and related hardware installation and configuration.
Proficiency in cabling installation and management, including copper and fiber, terminations, labeling, and cable routing.
Experience in a lead or senior technician role, with the ability to supervise, mentor, and train team members.
Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., TIA/EIA, NEC) and adherence to safety procedures on job sites.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and construction documents.
Good communication and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate with project managers, clients, and contractors.
Physical ability to lift equipment, use ladders, and work in confined spaces as required by cabling installations.
Applicants with a secret or top secret clearance preferred. All applicants must possess a current BICSI TECH TE 350 cert. No exceptions. This is a requirement based on customer demands.
