We are seeking a dedicated Med/Surg RN for an Acute Care nursing position. This role focuses on providing comprehensive bedside care, post-operative management, and telemetry monitoring for pre- and post-surgery patients.

• EMR System: Epic (experience is preferred).

• Language Requirement: Fluent in English (Speaking, Reading, and Writing).

Job Function:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in consultation with the healthcare team.

• Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgery patients, including monitoring vitals and reporting adverse medication reactions in a timely manner.

• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications.

• Perform clinical interventions including changing dressings, inserting catheters, wound care, infection control, and starting IVs.

• Adjust specialized medical equipment, interpret telemetry monitoring, and record measurements.

• Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery home care.

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team on discharge planning.

• Maintain, update, and secure patient files, medical charts, and health records in accordance with nursing protocols.

Job Requirements:

• Experience: * Acute Facilities: Minimum of two (2) years of Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital setting, with the most recent experience within the past year.

  • Post-Acute Facilities: Minimum of two (2) years of Med/Surg experience in either a Post-Acute Facility or an acute care hospital setting, with the most recent experience within the past year.

• Education: Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited educational institution.

• Licensure & Certifications: * Active New York State RN License with Primary Source Verification.

  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS.

  • American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS (Required for Queens locations only).
