Physician Assistant | Surgery - General/Other Location: Columbia, SC Employer: VieMed Healthcare Staffing Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: Days - 11 hours Start Date: ASAP About the Position Join Our Team as a Surgery Trauma Physician Assistant — Make a Critical Impact in Trauma Care! Are you a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant passionate about trauma surgery? We are seeking a highly skilled Surgery Trauma Physician Assistant to provide vital care in a fast-paced trauma unit. Your expertise will directly save lives and improve patient outcomes in an environment that values professionalism, collaboration, and excellence. What You'll Bring: Board Certification in Trauma Surgery (BC required) Valid South Carolina State License (or willingness to obtain within 60 days) Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, ATLS, PALS Strong clinical skills in adult trauma surgery, with occasional pediatric cases Ability to work 11-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, five days a week Experience managing high patient volumes (10-12 patients per shift) Excellent EMR documentation skills using Epic Clean background with verifiable credentials, including NPI number Additional Skills That Would Boost Your Candidacy: Previous experience in trauma transfer protocols Familiarity with pediatric trauma cases Additional certifications in trauma or critical care Preferred Education and Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent trauma surgery PA experience Trauma surgery or emergency department background highly valued Other Requirements: Willingness to secure South Carolina licensure (highly preferred) with a credentialing timeframe of 60 days (or up to 3 months without) Travel reimbursements included; billable travel component Availability for scheduled shifts and adherence to hospital policies Compensation & Benefits: Competitive hourly rate at $166.92/hour, with billable rates at $214/hour Overtime/holiday pay at $288.90/hour (1.35x) Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2), paid sick time, and licensure/certification reimbursements Robust referral bonus program and dedicated support team committed to your success This is a fantastic opportunity to elevate your trauma care career while working in a supportive environment that prioritizes your professional growth and work-life balance.
