Quick Job Summary Job Title: Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist (General) Location: Woonsocket, Rhode Island (02895) — Providence/Boston commute options Weekly Estimated Pay: $11,890 – $12,530 Assignment Dates: Multiple blocks available between June 29, 2026 and January 4, 2027 Shift: 8-hour days (7:00am – 3:00pm), 5 shifts/week Call: 3:00pm – 7:00am, backup call every night (30-minute response time) Rotation: 2 days on / 2 days off; flexible block scheduling up to 52 weeks EMR: EPIC Team Model: MDs and CRNAs; 4 providers, 4 ORs Job Details – Anesthesia / Locum Tenens Locum tenens anesthesia assignment covering general surgery, endoscopy, obstetrics, orthopedics (including select spine), urology, gynecology, podiatry, and select cardiac procedures (cath lab, TEE). Obstetrics volume approximately 450 deliveries/year; cardiac procedural volume ~380/year. Work within a collaborative supervision model alongside MDs and CRNAs; support team-based perioperative care and patient safety initiatives. Documentation and charting in EPIC EMR; ensure compliance with hospital policies and quality metrics. Required Qualifications Board Certification in Anesthesiology (board-certified anesthesiologist) Minimum 2 years clinical experience as an anesthesiologist (locum tenens or permanent practice experience preferred) Active and unrestricted medical license (Rhode Island license preferred; out-of-state physicians will be considered for temporary privileges) Current AHA-issued ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications Clear background and malpractice history required for temporary privileges Demonstrated competency in spinals, peripheral nerve blocks, and epidurals (case logs required) Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate with anesthesiology MDs, CRNAs, and perioperative staff Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality general and regional anesthesia services across a broad caseload. Perform spinals, peripheral nerve blocks, and epidurals as clinically indicated. Participate in anesthesia call rotation and respond within the required 30-minute window. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC; follow institutional protocols and safety standards. Support quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and positive perioperative outcomes.
