Job Summary:
At Paramount Community Living and Rehab, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team on a part-time basis. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by providing individualized therapy programs to improve their daily living skills and overall functionality. This flexibility-rich position is ideal for those looking to work on a part-time basis.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a clinical healthcare environment where you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to our residents.
Responsibilities:
- Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments of residents' physical, cognitive, and emotional needs, and evaluate the impact of impairments on daily activities and functional abilities.
- Therapy Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, resident goals, and evidence-based practices.
- Intervention: Provide one-on-one therapy sessions to address specific challenges, including but not limited to motor skills, cognitive functions, and daily living activities.
- Rehabilitation & Recovery: Utilize therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment to enhance residents' skills, promote independence, and improve their overall quality of life.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to care.
- Education & Training: Educate residents, families, and caregivers on techniques and strategies to support ongoing rehabilitation and daily living skills.
- Program Development: Participate in the development and refinement of therapy programs and protocols to enhance service delivery and outcomes.
- Compliance: Adhere to facility policies, state, and federal regulations, ensuring all practices meet required standards and guidelines.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices and advancements in occupational therapy through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience: Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar setting preferred, but not required.
