Position Summary
The Pet Resort Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Pet Resort at The Pet Hospitals in Collierville. This role ensures exceptional care, safety, and customer service for boarding, daycare, grooming, and resort guests while leading, training, and developing a high-performing team. The Pet Resort Manager works closely with hospital leadership to maintain compliance with medical, operational, and brand standards while driving growth, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Guest Experience
- Oversee daily operations of the Pet Resort, including boarding, daycare, grooming coordination, and enrichment activities
- Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging environment for all pets
- Maintain high standards of animal welfare, sanitation, and facility maintenance
- Address and resolve client concerns promptly and professionally
- Ensure seamless communication between resort staff and the veterinary hospital team
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise resort team members
- Foster a positive, compassionate, and accountable team culture
- Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions as needed
- Ensure staff follow all safety protocols, handling procedures, and client service standards
Client Relations & Communication
- Serve as a primary point of contact for Pet Resort clients
- Educate pet owners on resort services, policies, and pet care recommendations
- Build strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals
- Collaborate with the hospital team to support pets with medical or behavioral needs
Financial & Administrative Management
- Manage scheduling, capacity, and staffing to optimize efficiency and revenue
- Monitor budgets, payroll, and operational expenses
- Track metrics such as occupancy, client retention, and team productivity
- Support marketing and promotional initiatives to grow Pet Resort services
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable local/state regulations
- Maintain accurate records for pets, services, incidents, and staff training
- Enforce emergency protocols and respond appropriately to incidents
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 2-3 years of management or supervisory experience (pet care, hospitality, veterinary, or service industry preferred)
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Passion for animal care and client service
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with scheduling or POS systems
Preferred
- Experience in a pet resort, veterinary hospital, kennel, grooming, or animal care setting
- Knowledge of canine and feline behavior and safe handling practices
- Experience managing teams and budgets
- Customer service or hospitality management background
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments
- Comfortable working around noise, odors, and cleaning chemicals
Work Schedule
- Full-time position, including weekends and holidays as needed to support resort operations
