Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOur organization is seeking to welcome a Primary Care Physician to our dedicated team at the Oceanside Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).
The CBOC functions under a Patient Aligned Care Team Model. In collaboration with a team that includes a Primary Care Provider (PCP), Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), and an administrator, the PCP is responsible for managing a patient panel of up to 1,260 individuals. The PCP delivers primary care services in a collaborative environment, focusing on chronic disease management and preventive health care. Common conditions treated include diabetes, hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, degenerative arthritis, depression, congestive heart failure, and chronic pain.
The physician will evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultations for non-surgical adult patients across all age groups, addressing a diverse range of diseases, injuries, and disorders that do not involve life-threatening complications. They will assess, stabilize, and determine the appropriate course of action for patients with urgent conditions, adhering to medical staff policies regarding emergency and consultative services. The physician may also supervise mid-level providers such as nurse practitioners and will work closely with various specialties (and subspecialties) both within and outside the VA system to manage or co-manage patient health. Select mental health and subspecialty services are available on-site, while additional medical and surgical subspecialty services can be accessed through consultations with the San Diego VA Health Care System or the community.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, excluding Federal Government holidays. No mandatory on-call duties!
Qualifications:- U.S. Citizenship
- Unrestricted U.S. Medical License
- Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency in Internal or Family Medicine.
- Compensation package ranging from $240,000 to $300,000, determined by training, experience, and local market conditions.
- Guaranteed salary increases.
- Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowance of $1,000 per year.
- Malpractice coverage under the Federal Tort Claims Act for VHA physicians.
