Job DescriptionJob DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
Deliver care to Veteran patients that demonstrates exceptional clinical judgment, comprehensive medical knowledge, and proficient clinical skills, including medical interviews, physical examinations, and procedural techniques, all while embodying professionalism and humanistic qualities.
Work in an outpatient clinic environment where the primary care physician typically sees 12-14 patients daily.
Adopt a personalized, patient-focused approach that considers the Veteran's objectives, diagnoses, and their physical, functional, and psychosocial requirements.
Initiate and manage treatment protocols during emergency situations.
Oversee a designated panel of patients while also providing support for the primary care needs of other Veterans enrolled at the clinic.
Refer patients to suitable specialists and healthcare facilities as necessary, and coordinate with home health services.
Document patient assessments and care plans in line with established standards, policies, and procedures.
Become adept in utilizing Tele-Health services for home visits (e.g., VA Video Connect).
Assist in coordinating care received from non-VA healthcare providers in the community.
Maintain state licensure, PECOS enrollment, and stay updated on current clinical practices and methodologies.
Engage in the VA Patient-Aligned Care Team model, which includes a dedicated Registered Nurse Care Coordinator, Clinical Associate (e.g., LPN), and Administrative Associate (e.g., Clerk) for each team.
The clinic is also supported by a Clinical Pharmacy Practitioner, Social Worker, and Mental Health professionals to enhance the care provided to enrolled Veterans.
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in providing direct face-to-face general medical and outpatient clinic-based primary care to adult patients.
Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
Proficiency in preventive and primary care health services for women, including cervical cancer screening, breast cancer screening, and bone density assessments.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Compensation: Competitive salary range of $275K-$295K, with annual performance bonuses and regular salary increments.
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid leave annually, including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and a potential 5-day paid absence for CME.
Retirement Benefits: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and a federal 401K with contributions up to 5% from the organization.
Insurance: Comprehensive federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance (many federal insurance options can be maintained into retirement).
Licensure: One full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory.
CME: Possible reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year (must be full-time with board certification).
Malpractice Coverage: Liability protection with tail coverage included.
Contractual Terms: No Physician Employment Contract and minimal restrictions on moonlighting.
Performance Pay: Up to $15K annually.
