Job Description

Seeking Radiologic Technologist / Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
Location: Pinon Health Center, Pinon, AZ (2 miles east of Pinon, Navajo Route 4)
Contract Duration: 1 Year
Start Date: Profiles due by 6/16
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (40 hours/week); occasional overtime possible (max 2 hrs/day, paid at same rate)

Position Overview
We're hiring a Radiologic Technologist with Diagnostic Medical Sonography experience to support outpatient primary care, obstetrics, and urgent care services at Pinon Health Center under the Navajo Area IHS.
The provider will deliver imaging services for outpatient and urgent care settings. Duties may occasionally include support at Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility or other locations within the Chinle Service Unit (though this is rare).

Key Responsibilities
• Perform diagnostic sonography procedures and radiology exams for outpatient, OB, and urgent care patients.
• Ensure high-quality, safe, and accurate imaging that supports provider decision-making.
• Communicate clearly with patients: explain procedures, ensure comfort, and provide care with cultural sensitivity.
• Collaborate with radiologists and referring providers; consult on complex cases.
• Handle patient intake, scheduling, and documentation in the CSU Electronic Health Record system (EHR).
• Assist in emergency situations (e.g., CPR); must hold active BLS certification.
• Participate in ARRT/ARDMS-required QC activities and maintain compliance documentation.

Qualifications
• Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program (ARRT or ARDMS).
• Minimum 12 months of relevant experience; no service lapse of more than 6 months in the past year.
• Active, unrestricted license and ARRT/ARDMS certification required.
• Experience with radiologic sonography in outpatient and urgent care settings strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with IHS or Native American healthcare systems a plus.
• Valid driver's license (if applicable).

Work Environment & Conditions
• Federal holidays off (unpaid).
• Additional hours may be requested for patient care surges or training.
• EHR training provided; must be comfortable entering data and documentation electronically.
