Description
Esplanade Lake Club is seeking an experienced, energetic Resort Manager with a strong background in Food & Beverage operations. This leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee resort-style amenities, deliver exceptional member and guest experiences, and ensure the seamless daily operation of our luxury community.General Purpose:
Manages all aspects of the Resort including its activities and the relationships between the Resort, Troon Golf, the Board of Directors, members, guests, associates, community, government and industry. Serves as top management level at property.
Essential Duties:
- Administers Resort policies and procedures established by the Board of Directors.
- Plans, develops and approves specific operational policies, programs, procedures and methods in concert with general policies.
- Monitors monthly and other financial reports/statements on a daily, weekly and monthly basis for the facility and takes effective corrective action when necessary.
- Coordinates the development of the Resort's long-range and annual (business) plans.
- Works with Troon Golf Human Resources Department to establish a basic personnel policy; initiating and monitoring policies relating to personnel actions and training and professional development programs.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Directly manages all department leaders and employees.
- Attends conferences, workshops and meetings to keep abreast of current information and developments in the field.
- Coordinates development of operating and capital budgets according to the budget calendar; monitors monthly and other financial statements for the Resort; takes effective corrective action as required.
- Provides advice and recommendations to the President and committees about construction, alterations, maintenance, materials, supplies, equipment and services not provided in approved plans and/or budgets.
- Consistently ensures that the Resort is operated in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws.
- Oversees the care and maintenance of all the Resort's physical assets and facilities.
- Ensures the highest standards for food, beverage, sports and recreation, entertainment and other Resort services.
- Establishes and monitors compliance with Troon Golf Procurement purchasing policies and procedures.
- Reports member infractions to the Board of Directors for necessary action.
- Serves as liaison between all management staff and the Board of Directors.
- Maintains relations with police, fire, liquor control board, health department and other governmental agencies.
- Establishes training programs, inspection protocols, and preventive enforcement measures to enhance emergency preparedness and response.
- Convenes and presides over meetings with departmental managers; conducts all-facility personnel meetings.
- Gives direction to and works closely with vendors, outside contractors, firms and individuals providing services, lease agreements, or contracts to the Resort.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (BA); or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Multi-course facilities may require more experience.)
Physical Demands:
- Regularly stands, walks and sits.
- Occasionally may climb, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, tastes or smells.
- Regularly uses hands to finger, feel or handle, reaches with arms and hands, talks or hears.
- Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
- Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions.
- Noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses:
- Active Florida Community Association Management License
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
- Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
