About Gulf Harbour Yacht & Country Club

Gulf Harbour Yacht & Country Club is a member-owned, fully private club located along the Caloosahatchee River in Fort Myers, Florida. The club features an 18-hole championship golf course and is home to approximately 400 golf members and 700 sports members.

Gulf Harbour is experiencing an exciting period of growth and investment. The clubhouse is currently undergoing a $20 million renovation, scheduled for completion in December 2026. The golf course underwent a $6.5 million renovation in 2019, and the club recently opened a new, multi-million-dollar Wellness Center featuring a dedicated TrackMan Simulator Room equipped with the latest golf and teaching technology.

The Golf Professional Staff is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Full-Time Seasonal Assistant Golf Professional to join our team.

This position provides an excellent opportunity for a PGA Professional or aspiring PGA Professional to gain valuable experience in all areas of private club golf operations while working alongside an experienced and supportive professional staff.
Position Overview

The Seasonal Assistant Golf Professional will play an important role in delivering an exceptional golf experience for our membership. The successful candidate will be highly personable, service-oriented, detail-driven, and eager to develop their skills across golf operations, instruction, tournaments, merchandising, club fitting, and member engagement.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is looking to grow professionally, gain hands-on experience, and pursue a career as a PGA Golf Professional.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A genuine passion for golf and providing exceptional member service
• A positive, outgoing, and personable personality
• Strong attention to detail and a professional appearance
• A desire to pursue or advance toward PGA Class A membership
• A self-motivated attitude and willingness to learn
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Prior private club experience is preferred but not required
• Jonas POS experience is helpful but not required
• Golf Genius tournament software experience is helpful but not required
• An interest in developing golf instruction and club-fitting skills
• The ability to work effectively as part of a professional team

Essential Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities

The Seasonal Assistant Golf Professional will assist the Professional Staff with the daily operation of the golf department, including but not limited to:
Member Service & Golf Operations

• Provide exceptional, personalized service to members and their guests
• Assist members with tee times, golf shop needs, and general golf-related requests
• Assist with the daily operation of the golf shop and outside golf services
• Build relationships with members through consistent interaction and engagement
• Assist the Professional Staff in maintaining an appropriate pace of play
• Participate in member play and golf activities to build relationships and enhance the member experience

Tournament Operations

• Assist with planning and executing member tournaments and golf events
• Utilize Golf Genius to create pairings, scorecards, scoring, leaderboards, and event materials
• Assist with tournament setup, execution, and post-event responsibilities
• Help ensure events are organized, professional, and enjoyable for the membership

Golf Instruction & Technology

• Provide private and group golf instruction under the direction of the Professional Staff
• Develop instructional skills and experience working with players of varying abilities
• Expand club-fitting knowledge through the use of TrackMan and other advanced technology
• Utilize the club's TrackMan Simulator Room as an additional resource for instruction and player development

Golf Shop & Merchandising

• Assist the Golf Shop Merchandiser and Professional Staff with daily merchandising operations
• Create appealing and creative merchandise displays
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional presentation throughout the golf shop
• Assist with inventory management and maintaining appropriate inventory levels
• Develop knowledge of golf merchandise, equipment, and apparel

Club Repair & Equipment

• Develop basic knowledge of club repair and regripping
• Assist with equipment-related needs and continue developing club-fitting expertise
• Gain hands-on experience with modern golf equipment and fitting technology
