Speech Language Pathologist - SLP with a Heart Empower Communication in the Vibrant City of Newark – Join Our Team as a Speech Language Pathologist Imagine a career where you play a pivotal role in giving voice to purpose — literally! As a Speech Language Pathologist in the lively city of Newark, your contributions will reach far beyond simply tackling communication and swallowing disorders. Your efforts will unleash potential, rebuild confidence, and foster human connections that span the spectrum of age — from little ones mastering their first words to seniors reclaiming their independence. This position presents a remarkable opportunity to serve a diverse array of individuals throughout their lives in a dynamic setting that interlaces outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient support. Whether your passion lies in pediatric language development, adult neurogenic communication disorders, or geriatric cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, you'll discover both fulfillment and flexibility in this role. Role Responsibilities Conduct evaluations for patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized assessments and observational techniques. Craft personalized treatment plans that address immediate goals as well as long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements. Deliver dedicated one-on-one speech therapy interventions that emphasize communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Work collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to devise cohesive care strategies. Provide education for patients and families to support progress outside of therapy sessions. Deliver occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure continuity of care throughout the treatment trajectory. Keep precise and timely documentation in alignment with state, federal, and organizational guidelines. Engage in continued learning and peer collaboration to stay updated with advancements in the field. Qualifications Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending. Certifications Licensure in the state as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting. Essential Skills Strong proficiency in evidence-based treatment techniques for all age groups, with comprehensive knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Excellent interpersonal communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams. Able to adapt therapy approaches to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving capabilities. Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and documentation protocols. Benefits Competitive compensation based on your experience. Flexible scheduling to promote work-life balance and varied caseloads. Opportunities to specialize in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics. Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) and holiday pay. Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Reimbursement for continuing education and support for professional growth. A collaborative, team-oriented environment committed to providing quality care and fostering lifelong learning. Your Pathway to Growth — and Fulfillment In this role, you won't simply be delivering speech therapy — you will become an integral part of a community-driven mission aimed at restoring voices, enhancing communication, and creating heartfelt moments through the simplest of human interactions: understanding and being understood. Here, you'll work with clinicians who function like family, in an atmosphere that values collaboration over competition. Every patient carries a unique story; we trust you to help shape their narrative.
