Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics, utilizing standardized tests and observational methodologies.
Create individualized treatment plans addressing both short-term milestones and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
Facilitate one-on-one speech therapy sessions targeting various aspects of communication, language, fluency, and swallowing.
Engage collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers to forge comprehensive care strategies.
Provide education to patients and their families, empowering them to support progress beyond the therapy sessions.
Be involved in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapies, ensuring seamless and consistent care throughout the recovery journey.
Maintain precise and timely documentation that adheres to regulatory standards, both state and federal.
Keep abreast of emerging trends and developments in the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required for individuals without ASHA certification.
Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in New York.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment practices across all age groups, possessing a solid knowledge of developmental and acquired disorders related to speech, language, and swallowing.
Outstanding communication skills that foster relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
Adept at customizing therapy methods to align with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical intuition and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and adhering to documentation standards.
