Applicants must be within driving distance to our Ridgeland, MS office to be considered for this role and have the ability to commute to the office a minimum of three days per week.
A day in the life.
As a Surety Client Manager, you will:
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders in the surety industry.
- Manage a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
- Assess client needs and provide tailored surety bond solutions, including contract bonds, commercial bonds, and other related products.
- Prepare and present proposals, including pricing and terms, to clients.
- Collaborate with underwriters to evaluate risk, negotiate terms, and secure bond approvals.
- Monitor and manage existing accounts, ensuring timely renewals and addressing any issues that arise.
- Conduct regular reviews of client accounts to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Lead and mentor junior account managers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and competitive landscape to provide informed advice to clients.
- Assist in the development of marketing strategies to promote surety services.
- Provide training and support to junior staff as needed.
- Prepare and present reports and presentations to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain proper communication and build effective relationships with clients and companies.
- Assist in gathering and organizing client information for bond requests and aid in the preparation of documentation for the underwriting process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of bond requests.
- Provide administrative support, including maintaining client records and managing correspondence.
- Assist in monitoring bond portfolios and preparing status reports.
- Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge and skills in surety bond management.

We'd love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, Risk Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in surety, insurance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of surety bonds and underwriting processes.
- Proven track record of managing large accounts and driving revenue growth.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM software.
- Experience in the construction and commercial surety sectors.
- Strong knowledge of customer relationships, agency, and learning management systems (CRM, AMS, LMS), such as
- Sagitta, ImageRight, Applied/Epic, Salesforce preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly MS PowerPoint and MS Excel.
- Must have Property & Casualty license
- Professional designations are preferred, such as CPCU, AFSB, or similar
