About the PositionPride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client's Medical Facility in Lafayette, LA 70506. This is a 3-month assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Location: Lafayette, LA 70506
Duration: 3 months Contract (Possibilities of extension)
Pay rate: $20-23/hr. On W2 (Pay Rate is based on experience)
Schedule: Mon – Thu from 7:45 am to 4:45 pm and Friday from 8 am to 2:30 pm (40 hrs./ wk.)
Travel: As needed for coverage in Baton Rouge, LA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist providers with patient care by following through on treatment plans and provider orders
- Take and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information
- Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Perform blood draws and specimen collection as applicable
- Conduct x-rays if certified and authorized
- Support daily clinical operations and participate in direct patient care activities
- Maintain accurate patient records and update documentation within the medical record system
- Monitor exam rooms, supplies, and clinical equipment to ensure readiness for patient care
- Communicate with patients regarding appointments, care instructions, and follow-up needs
- Adhere to clinic, hospital, safety, and infection control protocols
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a hospital/ clinic setting.
- Current Medical Assistant Certification/ Registration. (preferred, not required)
