Make a real difference as a travel PTA in Alexandria, VA, working in an outpatient setting. You will work with patients recovering from injuries or illness, helping them move better, feel better, and stay active under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist. Start ASAP for a 13 week assignment with a consistent daily schedule. Your clinical skills and patient-centered approach will contribute to improved outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited educational program.
• Active Virginia PTA license required to start the assignment.
• BLS Certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
• Experience working in an outpatient clinic setting preferred.
• Experience with common outpatient modalities and therapeutic interventions, including therapeutic exercise, gait training with assistive devices, hot/cold packs, ultrasound, and TENS preferred.
• Ability to follow established treatment plans and document patient progress accurately.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous travel therapy experience preferred.
• Experience with patient education, community re-entry training, and functional skills training preferred.

• Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, daily (5x8).
• Assignment start: ASAP.
• Duration: 13 weeks.
• Candidates may be expected to follow facility policies for safety, infection control, and documentation.

Impacting Patient Care Nationwide

As a PTA traveler you will provide high-quality care in outpatient settings, implementing treatment goals established by the Physical Therapist. You will assist with therapeutic interventions such as posture and strengthening exercises, balance and coordination training, joint mobility, pain relief modalities, functional skills training, and gait training using orthotics and assistive devices. You will document patient progress, educate patients and families on body mechanics, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered care.
