The therapist will focus on a variety of cases, including adults, adolescents, and geriatrics. The expected patient load is around eight cases per day. Weekend shifts are required, with a minimum of two weekend shifts per month. This position requires the ability to manage diverse diagnoses, including but not limited to falls, CVA, trauma, pneumonia, orthopedic surgeries, and respiratory failure. Candidates with previous acute inpatient experience, including familiarity with total joint replacements and same-day discharge protocols, will be given preference. The position involves patient evaluations starting as late as 5:00 PM. Skills required include acute care, body mechanics, rehabilitation techniques, and patient family education. The facility is community-based with a focus on interdisciplinary support. Team collaboration will involve working alongside respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy staff. Candidates must be prepared to work in an environment with a daily census of approximately 65 patients. All compliance documents are required to be submitted promptly.
