Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
- Conduct 60-minute evaluations and treatments, designing functional programs that support effective return to community activities
- Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
- Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients while ensuring care is provided under valid physician orders and within insurance approvals
- Serve as an educator to patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
- Adhere to the discipline-specific State Practice Act and all regulatory requirements; actively pursue professional development through continuing education and professional organizations
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in good standing in the state of California
- Outpatient Physical Therapy experience required (new graduates will not be considered)
- Demonstrated competency in patient evaluation, treatment planning, and clinical documentation
- Knowledge of and adherence to state and federal regulatory guidelines governing physical therapy practice
- Ability to maintain compliance with all continuing education requirements mandated by the state
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience supervising or mentoring Physical Therapy students in a clinical setting
- Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and quality improvement initiatives in an outpatient environment
- Experience with functional outcome measures and evidence-based treatment approaches in an outpatient setting
