Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
- Perform 60-minute evaluations and treatments; design functional treatment programs to support effective return to community activities
- Complete accurate and timely medical record documentation including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines
- Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients; ensure care is provided under valid physician orders and within insurance approvals
- Supervise and mentor therapy students as assigned, providing a positive learning environment with appropriate oversight and completion of student evaluations
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and maintain awareness of organizational quality objectives, contributing feedback through appropriate channels
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist licensure in the state of Florida
- Adherence to the Florida Physical Therapy Practice Act and all applicable regulatory agency requirements
- Demonstrated clinical reasoning skills with ability to develop appropriate treatment plans and progress patients toward discharge goals
- Commitment to patient and employee safety standards, including safe patient handling and infection control practices
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting
- Experience supervising or mentoring physical therapy students
- Active involvement in continuing education and professional development activities
