Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOur organization is currently in search of a Urologist (available ranks: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The chosen candidate will be expected to provide services in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Key Responsibilities:The selected individual will focus on the field of Urology. Alongside delivering exceptional patient care, the candidate will also engage in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications:- Must possess an MD or DO degree or an equivalent international qualification.
- Eligibility for a state medical license is required.
- Completion of a Urology residency program is mandatory.
- Board certification or eligibility in Urology is essential.
- All qualifications must be fulfilled by the time of appointment.
Martinsburg, WV is situated in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, just over an hour's drive from Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, MD, with proximity to three international airports. The area offers a rural setting with a lower cost of living, combined with convenient access to the metropolitan regions of Washington, D.C. / Baltimore. This makes the Eastern Panhandle an attractive place to reside. Berkeley County is one of the fastest-growing counties in the state, yet it maintains minimal congestion and traffic. Recently, an influx of urban professionals from nearby cities has bolstered local telecommuting and high-tech sectors.
About the Health System:The health system affiliated with our organization is the largest in West Virginia and serves as the state's primary employer. It has seen considerable growth in specialty and sub-specialty care, including areas such as oncology, cardiovascular health, and neuroscience, among others. Notably, it operates the state's first and only multi-organ transplant center and recently inaugurated a new 150-bed Children's Hospital in September 2022.
Currently, the health system boasts over 2,400 licensed beds, 3,900 healthcare providers, and nearly 30,000 staff members. Centered around a 700-bed academic medical center in Morgantown, it encompasses more than 20 affiliated hospitals that collectively serve a multi-state region, including West Virginia, Western Maryland, Eastern Ohio, and Southwestern Pennsylvania.
